A Sign You Would Only See In Maine
Here is a humorous sign that caught my attention on a scenic back road in Maine. The sign reads “This is Gods country why set it on Fire and make it look like hell”. I had to snap a picture of this to share with you.
The sign was spotted on the Brownville Road in Maine.
It has been there for many years and the sign promotes fire prevention. Many pointless fires are started in Maine every year due to the dry conditions in the summer.
The largest fires in the history of Maine was the 1866 Great Fire of Portland, Maine and the Great Fire of 1911, which took place in Bangor, Maine.
The fire was so large that the glow in the sky could be seen from Belfast and most of Bangor’s downtown was destroyed.

God’s Country, not Gods Country. If you’re going to take the time to build a sign, the least you can do is make it grammatically correct.
I mean, punctuation in the form of exclamation points, periods, and question marks would have been nice too.
