In Maine, Moose are one of the most ubiquitous large animals. They are also a powerful creature, easily weighing thousands of pounds.

You need to be careful when driving in Maine, always be on the lookout for Moose, because they are responsible for an incredible amount of accidents each year.

On the other hand, they are fascinating to watch, and not that jumpy. You will be able to take stunning pictures of them, as long as you don’t attempt to scare them off or make too much noise.

You will usually find them out on the roads, around sunset, licking the salt on the roads or relaxing in the waters near.

Of course, they don’t hibernate, so you can find them, basically, anytime of the year.
